Conventional Chinese painting with a history over thousands of years is deep loved by people in the oriental. Nowadays, oil painting is introduced into Asia and other oriental districts and is popular with more and more people. However, a controversy on oil painting and Chinese painting occurs. Some people prefer oil painting, but the other ones think Chinese painting can be considered as authentic art indeed. Here are the differences from the two great arts:
Ⅰ.Chinese painting is featured in line lea and painted by quantities of line leas so as to protrude the outline of figures. Nevertheless, oil painting artist always created their artworks using few lines or even without using any line.
Ⅱ.Chinese painter hardly notices perspective in the painting; despite of this, western oil painting is usually focused on perspective and distant view. Western painters think a lot of fidelity while Chinese painters pay more attention to spirit of art.
